Tips on air conditioner maintenance

- Regulate the room temperature so that the air conditioners are not overloaded.
- Air filter can help to reduce indoor suspended particles and it should be cleaned weekly for quality air. Change the filters regularly. Dirty filters restrict air flow and reducing efficiency.
- Employ professional technician to clear outdoor radiator unit every 1 - 3 years, depending on air quality of environment.
- Run your air conditioner for 4 hours with fan mode during idling period. If you wait until the first hot day to discover it isn't working, you'll find yourself on a waiting list, sweltering sometimes for days before an air conditioning technician can come to fix it.
- Clean obvious obstructions such as newspaper, leaves, etc. from around the exterior of the unit. Observe the air conditioner during operation and ensure that the condensate is properly drained.
It is the rule of law in Hong Kong SAR that the person concerned of the water dripping from air conditioning is subject to prosecution. Upon conviction, the person concerned is liable to a maximum fine of HK$10,000.
